Red Sox win the championship

The Red Sox were clearly favored to win this game, with their ace Sam Bluestone on the mound. The White Sox pitching staff was mostly ineligible, as they had used them all up just to get to the final game. They did have a kid named Noah pitching, who turned in a very nice performance until the 5th inning, but more on that later.

The Red Sox jumped to an early lead, 3-0 but the White Sox surprised everyone by battling back with 8 runs, on some good hitting and some errors by the Red Sox. It was clear the championship jitters were causing some problems for the Red Sox, and the White Sox, as underdogs tend to do having nothing to lose, were outplaying the favored team.

We entered the bottom of the 5th down 5 runs and we had the bottom of the lineup due up. But Noah was also tiring and walked a few of our younger boys and soon enough we had the top of the lineup coming up with the bases loaded and one out. The next six batters are all stars, and the White Sox pitching staff shot, it was all over. Before you could blink it was 10-8, then 12-8, then 16-8. The White Sox fought back again with two more runs in the top of the sixth, but Travis ended it on a little roller to his right and gunned it to first for the final out.
